Leadership Care Team

Nicola Murray, RN

Director of Care

Nicola has an extensive nursing background which includes: Isolated post nursing, emergency care, respiratory care and unit management. She has practiced as a Clinical Nurse Specialist providing leadership and guidance to colleagues, patients and their families. She is originally from Northern Canada but loves to travel. Nicola has been a Registered Nurse for roughly 14 years and has worked in England, Australia and Canada. Having the opportunity to meet many unique and interesting people around the globe, Nicola has gained new perspective on the meaning of care and on the value of making meaningful relationships. She has a passion for working with older adults and feels it is such a privilege to be able to connect with each person on a regular basis. Nicola feels these regular connections establish the building blocks of new relationships and allow for the provision of high quality resident care.  She looks forward to building new relationships with the residents and families of Trillium Douglas Care.

Leslie Biedermann

Recreation Coordinator

Leslie began working with Douglas Care’s nursing department in 1990. Asked to fill in as holiday relief in the recreation department, her eyes were opened to the difference she could make in her residents’ quality of life as Recreation Coordinator.

Leslie has multiple certificates from courses she has attended throughout her 22 years in recreation. She is a member of the B.C. Activity Coordinators Association, sitting on the board for 11 years, as well as a member of the Capital Regional Activity Coordinators Association.

An advocate for the individual, Leslie believes each resident is worthy of respect for their wealth of life experiences. With these beliefs, she honours the uniqueness of each individual in designing diverse programs of activities, adapting and evolving to the ever-changing community of individuals at Douglas Care.
