  5. LPN’s will be responsible for coordinating and supervising others who will deliver direct care, such as the Care Aides.
  6. Provides personal care such as assisting clients with bathing, dressing, care of skin and hair, assists with changing beds, toileting and ensuring client exercise programs are carried out as directed.
  7. Documents client care and progress as per CLPNBC standards of documentation
  8. Participates as a member of the interdisciplinary team by assisting in the development, implementation, assessment and evaluation of client care plans.
  9. Making or adjusting resident assignments as required.
  10. Assists in maintaining a physical and psychosocial environment which meets the evolving care of the Residents.
  11. Ensures the proper use and care of equipment used in providing care to the Residents and promptly reports any malfunctions to the RCM.

RESPONSIBILITY:

The Cook, as an integral part of the health and hospitality team, is responsible for the delivery of nutritious meals and nourishments in appropriate amounts, textures and temperatures to meet the nutritional needs of residents according to the established menu plan recipes.

 DUTIES:

  1.  Cooks and prepares meals and nourishments according to established menu cycle, and the identified nutritional needs of residents with attention to quality, palatability and portion control.
  2. Ensures that sufficient quantities of food are prepared with modified textures at each meal to meet the needs of residents who require them.
  3. Receives and inspects deliveries of food and supplies. Advises Resident Care Manager of unsatisfactory products and returns.
  4. Ensures that food temperatures are maintained within required range and time periods to maintain food safety.
  5. The Cook provides dietary/kitchen services in accordance with administrative policies, established standards are, and cleaning principles, and the Residential Care Act.
  6. Maintains the work and dining room areas clean and safe condition and ensures that equipment is maintained and operated in a safe and sanitary manner. Responsible for reporting malfunctions of equipment immediately to Resident Care Manager.
  7. Follows the weekly rotations of menu items and follows the residents care plan.
  8. Responds to Fire Alarms and emergency situations as directed by the RN and established procedures.
  9. Maintains confidentiality of resident and staff information at all times.
