Samantha has been nursing for over 11 years since graduating from Confederation College in Thunder Bay, Ontario. After working for one year in orthopedics she decided to make the move to beautiful Victoria, BC and follow her passion of working with older adults. Samantha has spent the last 10 years working in different long term care facilities and six years ago made the move to home and community care as a Nurse Manager of a respite facility and Clinical Educator for community health workers. During this time she has also been working on completing her BA Gerontology, has become a Certified Professional Consultant on Aging and has also specialized in dementia and palliative care becoming an End of Life Doula/Doula Consultant & Eldercare Doula. Today Samantha is gratefully back in long term care spending time learning about our client life stories and achievements while also taking their “don’t sweat the small stuff” advice while gaining insight and wisdom from stories they are willing to share.
In Samantha’s spare time you’ll find her walking her dogs, reading a good book with a cup of tea or on the water boating or kayaking.
