Leadership Care Team

Megan Hiltz, RN

Director of Care

Megan’s nursing career began in 1994 as an LPN where she first worked in Northern Ontario, then Southern Ontario, where she obtained her RN diploma in 2000. Since obtaining her diploma, Megan has gone on to obtain her nursing degree, Master of Health Studies and is currently working towards obtaining her PhD in Nursing with a focus on Veterans living with Dementia and PTSD. She has worked in a variety of settings including long term care, community, geriatric rehabilitation, and geriatric mental health in both Canada and the United States of America.  While working in these settings, Megan has held various roles including staff nurse, charge nurse, clinical nurse leader, shift supervisor, clinical nurse specialist and admissions coordinator.  She considers it a privilege to care for seniors as it allows her to acknowledge and maintain their individual uniqueness while honouring their journey at whatever stage of life they are at.

Natalie Gela

Administrative Coordinator

Natalie comes to us with a wide array of experience in both healthcare as well as private business. Her background is rooted in Operations Management and she holds a Health Care Aide Diploma as well as a Diploma in Human Resource Management.

When Natalie  isn’t in her office at Douglas Care, you’ll be able to find her spending time with the Residents and the staff, as she believes it’s the warm and friendly environment and the people that make Douglas Care feel like home.
